Sunday Lunch @ the Hob Nails Inn

What a great little find.

The hob nail was built in 1280 and has been listed as an inn since 1473, so they've had time to get it all just right.

There was 7 of us for the Sunday lunch carvery and at first glance our table was the leaning post for the queue to it, upon sitting down with our drinks, the crowd moved as did the queue and all was well.

Food - Excellent, second helpings of everything except meat was on offer. The meat portions were so big, you didn't need seconds anyway.

Service - Friendly and efficient and a lot of them were young, not the spotty unhelpful kind that we are so used to, but pink cheeked helpful ones, with a smile on their faces and a spring in their step!! Way to go Hob nails!!

Premises - Warm, comfortable and welcoming, but what do you expect with such an old building. It was great to look around and see the old range and fireplaces and nooks and crannies.

We really enjoyed our lunch at the hob nails we said we'd definitely go back again soon!
Thankfully we didn't meet Harry, the resident ghost!!
Just popping in to update you all.
We have been back to this place many times since I first published this review and each time the standard is the same, there is a lovely little room to the left as you go in and if you are early enough or you manage to book it well in advance you get a small intimate private dining room all to yourself. It seats 6-8 comfortably and is a real treat!
